Stellantis und Factorial Energy entwickeln gemeinsam Festkörperbatterien für Elektrofahrzeuge

Stellantis N.V. (NYSE, MTA, Euronext Paris: STLA) und Factorial Energy (Factorial) haben heute die Unterzeichnung einer gemeinsamen Entwicklungsvereinbarung bekannt gegeben, um die Hochspannungs-Festkörperbatterietechnologie von Factorial voranzutreiben. Die Vereinbarung umfasst auch eine strategische Investition von Stellantis.

»Unsere Investition in Factorial und andere anerkannte Batteriepartner steigert die Geschwindigkeit und Agilität, die wir benötigen, um Spitzentechnologie für unser Elektrofahrzeug-Portfolio bereitzustellen«, sagte Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares. »Initiativen wie diese werden eine schnellere Markteinführung und einen kostengünstigeren Übergang zur Festkörpertechnologie ermöglichen.«

Factorial hat eine bahnbrechende Festkörpertechnologie entwickelt, die sich mit den entscheidenden Herausforderungen befasst, die einer noch breiteren Akzeptanz von Elektrofahrzeugen im Wege stehen: Reichweite und Sicherheit.

Stellantis kündigte im Rahmen des EV Day im Juli 2021 das Ziel an, bis 2026 die erste wettbewerbsfähige Festkörperbatterietechnologie auf den Markt zu bringen.

Die Entwicklungen von Factorial basieren auf der »FEST«-Technologie (Factorial Electrolyte System Technology), die ein proprietäres Festelektrolytmaterial nutzt. Dieses ermöglicht eine sichere und zuverlässige Zellleistung mit Hochspannungs- und Hochkapazitätselektroden und wurde in 40-Amperestunden-Zellen skaliert, die bei Raumtemperatur funktionieren. »FEST« ist sicherer als die herkömmliche Lithium-Ionen-Technologie, erhöht die Reichweite und ist für eine einfache Integration in die bestehende Infrastruktur zur Herstellung von Lithium-Ionen-Batterien sofort einsetzbar.
